2026.08.0412:36:08UTC+00US Exports Fall to 4-Month Low

US exports fell to a four-month low of $314.7 billion in June 2026, a decline of $2.9 billion, or 0.9%, from May, driven primarily by weaker foreign demand for goods. Goods exports dropped by $4 billion to $206.9 billion, with Census-basis goods exports down $3.8 billion. The largest drag came from industrial supplies and materials, which decreased by $3.3 billion, reflecting a sharp $5.7 billion drop in crude oil exports and a $1.6 billion decline in fuel oil shipments. These losses were partially offset by a $3.4 billion increase in exports of nonmonetary gold. Exports of other goods fell by $0.8 billion, while capital goods slipped by $0.6 billion, led by a $1.1 billion decrease in computer exports. In contrast, services exports rose by $1.1 billion to $107.8 billion, supported by a $0.5 billion increase in financial services exports and a $0.4 billion gain in travel-related exports.
